Kabar – Gallay Kézműves Pince

With a mere 35 hectares of Kabar being planted in Hungary, this wine is a hidden treasure. Kabar is the crossing of Bouvier and Hárslevelű, so it’s no surprise that this varietal feels very at home in the Tokaj region. This wine was aged for six months in new and used 220-liter Zemplén oak barrels. It is characterized by exotic fruits (pineapple, mango), flinty minerality, and some spicy barrel-aging notes (vanilla, cinnamon). The palate is full and juicy with the classic, bracing Tokaj acidity. Pair this one with flavorful dishes like Indian curry or Tandoori chicken.
