Őrségi tökmagolaj (pumpkin seed oil from Őrség)

The Őrség region in northwestern Hungary is famous for its culinary delights. This pumpkin seed oil (also called the “gold” of Őrség) is made in the region’s traditional way. The unshelled seeds are roasted, and then pressed to extract the oil

The oil is rich and delicious, and can be used in many ways—as a salad dressing, drizzled in soups, drizzled on vanilla ice cream, sprinkled in vegetable soups, used for dipping bread in (in place of olive oil), or drizzled over roasted vegetables.
