Liquid Summer – Turay Családi Pincészet
Borsmenta is a resilient, disease-resistant grape variety from the Research Institute of Pécs. The winemaker received grafting plugs from the institute, and these were grafted onto existing Irsai Olivér vines. The grapes were harvested at the beginning of November and were soaked on their skins for four days. Maturation took place in stainless steel tanks after which it was bottled on fine lees. It’s an unfiltered, unfined, natural wine free of additional sulfites. This Borsmenta has a deep yellow-amber color with an expressive, spicy nose. Peppermint, passion fruit, pineapple, pomelo, and rhubarb are detectable on the nose and palate. It has a long finish with mouth-watering high acidity. Pair it with grilled fish, rhubarb compote, and caramelized tomatoes. We highly recommend it for summer evening wine and dinner parties.
