The Rejiji Winery was founded in 2012 by a Finnish-Hungarian couple, who decided to follow their passion for wine. They acquired a few premium vineyards in Villány—the Kopár and the Tenkes—and now produce around 10,000 bottles of premium wine a year. In 2016 Rejiji transitioned to organically farming its vineyards. This 100% Cabernet Franc comes from the Kopár vineyard, one of the region’s premier vineyards. It was fermented in steel tanks, kept on lees for 10 days, and then matured in a combination of new French and medium-toasted Hungarian oak barrels for 20 months. This is a full-bodied, concentrated wine with a wealth of aromas. It has a depth of flavors, including red berries, overripe fruit, spices, and elegant barrel notes. It has a soft, long, and elegant aftertaste. This is a really elegant, harmonious wine, which was the gold medal winner in the Mundus Vini 2020.
