Description
Szürkebarát is the local name of Pinot Gris (a.k.a. Pinot Grigio) in Hungary. The Pinot Gris grape has pinkish-colored skin, and is used to produce white wines. When the juice of white grapes is left in contact with their skins, it turns into an orange colored wine. But since Pinot Gris has pink-colored skin, the wine turns out to be pinkish in color. Kept on the skins for 36 hours, half of this wine was aged in oak barrels, while the other half remained in INOX tanks. It has a great texture, with soft tannins from the skin contact. There are flavors of melon, orange, and strawberries. So this is an orange wine, which turned out to be pink!
