Description
This is another Hungarian variety which is rarely made into a single-varietal wine. But Szentpéteri Winery has made this beautiful version of Pozsonyi Fehér (“the white from Bratislava”). The grape is mostly known for being the parent of the summer-superstar Irsai Oliver variety (a cross of Pozsonyi Fehér and Csabagyöngye). Unlike its son, this grape is not an aromatic one. It has restrained aromas of citrus and apple, next to a balanced acidity. It is closer in style to an Olaszrizling than to an Irsai Oliver wine.
