The Rejiji Winery was founded in 2012 by a Finnish-Hungarian couple, who decided to follow their passion for wine. They acquired a few premium vineyards in Villány—the Kopár and the Tenkes—and now produce around 10,000 bottles of premium wine a year. In 2016 Rejiji transitioned to organically farming its vineyards. This elegant Merlot from the Kopár vineyard was aged in 225-liter Hungarian oak barrels for 18 months. It is dominated by spiciness, black fruit flavors, and refined oak-barrel notes. Its mature tannins are in a good balance with its acidity, and it has a long, smooth and aftertaste.
